This is a subset of what i was planning (see http://www.flickr.com/groups/gmic/discu ... 449047938/) i can't finish that project without help, but i could easily extract this simple filter from there

It is similar to the Gmic/Array and frames/Regular array filter (and i believe would be a nice added option for that...) except that here the original image remain always the centered .
the options are for 3x3 and 5x5 array...i would have no problem to add other options
(as 7x7, 9x9 or even 3x5, 5x7 and on and on..) if requested, would be really easy

No more need to paste the code ,just open gmic go to About/additional filters enable my source , click apply and then "refresh filters"

here a example of "centered 3x3 array"

Gmic Regular Array 3x3-array (aka Centre Tile) by PhotoComix_Mandala, on Flickr

i suppose you may well imagine the 5x5, again feel free to ask if you want me adding more options..
################################################
PS i hope the warning i added in the filter clear, expand or repeat will obviously multply image size:
if your original was 1,000x1,000 for 1MB result would become 3,000x3,000 and 9MB ,or 5,000x5,000 and 25MB..it is the concept clear ?

PS oh well i may well add a example of a 5x5 array

or even of a 25x25 array (that now correspond to running twice the filter with option5x5)

This was fun. Nice filter, PhotoComix. My subject is not lofty nor very cool, but it shows that the filter works for me.

Oh make sure to click apply after enabling a users filter group too...then click refresh.
You must be connected to the internet to see the new filters.

But you could have made it better i am sure. :\
Well at least we do not have to delete it from the .gmic file.
That is a pretty cool setup with user groups now. :)

Rod i have the feeling that your instrutions would be more easy to find if in a dedicated topic

in simple words why don't split your post, add a very explicative title as "Gmic mini tut, how to enable more filters" ?...and delete my messages

In that case we could also add it to the tutorial list in the gmic group :yes

more will be easy found with forum search
