Each individual number and letter is created on its own layer in a Gimp work space file (XCF)
I made the letters and numbers in Xara Design Pro with the extrusion and text tools.
Just thought you guys would have fun playing with them. :)

XCF is attached.

I didn't know you had Xara Design. I've used it for years but have tried to drift from it to Inkscape. hich version do you have? I still use 5, I tried 6 and didn't see that it was worth the cost.

Just got 6 - if Inkscape had a decent extrusion tool for 3-D it would probably by pass Xara Design.
I like the way Xara works like Sketchups tool.

I do like it too Rod. One day I'll start exploring all the cool 3D stuff out there; sort have been faking it in GIMP for a long time now. :)

You can extrude font and objects in Inkscape. I don't understand?

Mahvin i am probably just too ignorant but i seem to only be able to extrude shapes not letters or numbers, even after changing them to paths.I get the ole need two paths selected error.
That and the fact that Xara works like Sketchup whereas you can grab the sides of an object and pull out the extrusion.I wish Inkscape had this tool.Maybe some day.

No, not ignorant, it just doesn't have the rubber band pulls, where you can just pull the extrusion out like in Xara Design (which is easier, I agree). Font requires a little bit of a different (lengthier) process. I use Kendra's technique (and I wish it were more like Xara Designer):

http://www.kendraschaefer.com/2009/03/i ... lettering/

I just wanted to make sure people realized that you can extrude text in Inkscape, just not the same way it's done in Xara Designer.

Mahvin i figured out a much easier way to extrude any text quickly.
Just type your text you want as 3-D
Select all the text and Path/object to path
using the select tool keep clicking each letter until its one selection do this with them all.
Now duplicate each text
go to extensions/generate from path/extrude
now align the two pieces of duplicate text the distance you want them extruded.
do this with them all
now select both texts - path/object to path
run the extruder dialog with polygons selected.
after it extrudes...select the next pair click apply on the extrude dialog.

Now group each pair and mess with them all you want.

I am having way too much fun with it now :lol

Yes, the 3d stuff and web building tools are all
I use X5 for anymore. Named colors are handy too.

I saw that Photo and Graphic Designer is being offered 30% off so i went ahead and bought that instead.Pro was cool but a lot of that stuff i didn't need like web design tools as i have Web Builder 7.6 for that.
Xara Photo Graphic Designer 6 seems to have just about everything Pro has anyways.
299.00 for Pro compared to 70.0 for designer 6 - well :lol
