Elizabeth Sladen definitely was my favorite Dr. Who companion. Just found out that she passed away yesterday. Sad news indeed.

Wow! I never would have expected that. It will be a true loss. I love the image you made of her.

Thanks PM; Yes, I saw this in my Slashdot RSS reed in my Yahoo and saw that she had passed away due to complications with cancer. I can't tell you how many Dr. Whos I've watched in the '80s on PBS on Saturday evenings and she was the one companion I was most fond of. She recently guest starred on the new Dr. Who series a few years ago and even had her own runoff series that I watched several episodes before I stopped watching them (just was going through life changes and can't even remember what got me to stop watching this series; didn't last long anyway on SyFy). Anyway, I used G'MIC's Paint preset as the base, but definitely went wack with the colors since I wanted to create a more abstract watercolor for this one. Had a little help with Paint Engine's @Wetter2 preset as well (but used Irfanview as the surrogate since this plugin just doesn't work in GIMP). :)

Sad news. She was only 63. I wouldn't have guessed though, she looked younger.

Rose Tyler (Billie Piper) is my favorite, as I have (present tense) an insane crush on her!

I'll miss her too, although she wasn't my favorite. My favorite was Leela. She never cried or screamed, her answer was to kill everybody who gave her trouble. My kind of girl.
My wife's favorite was Rose.
