I've done just that, with mixed responses. Mixed in that I have only contacted about 5 authors, and only 2 of them responded favorably, at least considering the option, where the other 3 said they haven't worked with the scripts in "x" amount of years and have no interest in keeping up with it, and reminded me that the script was open source and free to distribute and modify. To which I had to agree. If I could just open my brain and drop in a ton of scheme knowledge into it, matrix style, I'd be all over the updating of these scripts.
I'm still working Fencepost's beginner tutorials and recently found a new source for plug-ins (tutorials) for which I need to add to the tutorial thread somewhere in Gimp Chat.
