Thanks Sallyanne, I was wrong about it being in Gmic. Actually I found a Turing in Gmic after updating but cant find a Turing under Render/Patterns in Gimp2.8.16 so, now I'm confused.

It's an old GIMP plugin. Want to say that either Graechan or samj compiled it as a 64-bit plugin but too lazy to try to find it at the moment (but, if memory serves me correctly, they posted it here. Of course, the 32-bit plugin still works as well. :)

Thanks MareroQ, unfortunately that is Windows only, I am on Linux. Also the Turing in Gmic doesn't work. It produces a black screen no matter what your background colour or transparent layer. I only tried the default settings, though. Compiling from source appears to be the only option and it's written in c. I have enough trouble with python.

Turing pattern is not a default gimp pattern and needs to be installed from where Samj posted it, MareroQ has posted the link

Thanks Graechan, Unfortunately I only have Linux Mint 18, and they are Windows only plugins. Unless someone can compile it for Linux I won't be using it.
