Hi there,

I copied the gimp-2.8.18-setup.exe file on my desktop (where it's working fine) on to a working flash drive and then copied to my laptop.

I then installed GIMP on the desktop.

One - it does not display in Start > All Programs but does display under CCleaner.

Two - when I right-click on that gimp-2.8.18-setup.exe file and choose Send to Desktop it creates a shortcut on the desktop but when I click on that shortcut it prompts me to sign in under Admin and not regular user Under Windows 7.

Q 1: is this a trusted site to download GIMP? - https://www.gimp.org/downloads/

I could not find any FileHippo or Pririform page which listed GIMP (they both have been trusted sites).

Q 2: why doesn't GIMP show under Programs in W7?

Q: 3 how can I run GIMP in regular user and not Admin in W7?

Installing help should be straight forward if you are using US English.

otherwise just look in https://www.gimp.org/downloads/ for the list languages.

Other languages can sometimes be a problem example:

What I have done with gimp is after finding the program and opening it I pinned it to my task-bar so I always have the shortcut there.
Yes I use a laptop too.
