Just wish 2.10.0 get's released though. May try to update next week (but I've been known to go where angels fear to tread). :)

According to Gimp website
https://www.gimp.org/downloads/

GIMP-2.8.20 is the current stable version. No mention of a .22 version yet.

Have you installed it and does it run ok?

That is strange, Rod. My bet is the announcement of version 22 will happen soon. :)

@ Rod

The link is to the official gimp.org download and I have installed with no issues.

I was aware the website had not updated.

TimeLord - thanks for the information. :tyspin
I always try the latest version - 32bit version works very well.
For now, I have noticed one change - the installer has added TLS / SSL support [glib-networking] http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15256

I installed 2.8.22 and it still has the same 3 '_ZdlPvy' errors that 2.8.20 had.

In addition, many .8bf type filters are throwing errors that the files are not valid 32 bit programs. Odd, since I never had these errors with 2.8.20.

Using 'Filter All Layers' with 'Map Object' does not work, much like in 2.8.20. The difference being that in 2.8.20 you could put in a prior version of 'map-object.exe' to make it work. In 2.8.22 this fix does not work.

Both Mathmap and G'Mic work well with 2.8.22.

I'm not sure where to post the errors for the developers.

Ouch; glad I decided to wait since I still use PSPI for a few of my PS filters. :)

The developers can't seem to duplicate the 3 '_ZdlPvy' errors in 2.8.22. I'll stay on it.

Have you tried searching for libstdc ++ - 6.dll on the whole system?
Eg G'MIC has its own library libstdc ++ - 6.dll - try to replace in folder bin (with backup).

Suspecting that Greg has some sort of localized issue, I did install GIMP 2.8.22 a few minutes ago. PSPI still works and so does G'MIC (both gtk and qt versions). Haven't tested any script-fus at the moment and I really need to hit the sack (have a 10 hour shift later) since I only had 3.5 hours sleep thus far. lol

Anyway, maybe you might have to bite the bullet and do a complete exorcism of your version of GIMP, Greg and then re-install it from scratch. I've had to do so on past systems (pain in the behind no doubt). You, of course, can do the basics first such as reset your GIMP to its defaults and such. I would indeed to those steps first. :)

edit:

OK; just tested python plugins and script-fu (only one of each) and both worked fine. :)

G'Mic and Mathmap work fine. Many PS filters work and many no longer do.

Lyle, did you get the '_ZdlPvy' errors in startup??

These errors appeared with 2.8.20 and continue in 2.8.22.
The developers are not seeing the error at all, so I will start stripping filters and
scripts to see if that could be an issue. If so, I'll post what filter(s) are causing the problem.

Here is a prior post on the errors.

The following filters (part of Filtermeister) were causing the PSPI errors:

AdaptiveContrastCurve_x64.8bf
AdaptiveHistogramEQ_x64.8bf
FineUSMSharpen_x64.8bf
FourChannelSaturation_x64.8bf
Retinex_x64.8bf
SaturationMask_x64.8bf
UltimateHueSaturation_x64.8bf
VHRUnsharpMask_x64
VHRHighPassContrast_x64

The '_ZdlPvy' errors in startup are still present but don't seem to effect anything.

Greg PSPI will only run 32 bit plug-ins (8bfs). Just remove the 64 bit 8bfs and the errors will be gone. I have tried in vain with Adobe SDK to re compile PSPI for 64 bit but to no avail.

I thought they were 32 bit plug-ins, since they were all 8bfs. Removing the listed files did fix it so I'm guessing they are 64 bit plugins.

Are fonts taking longer to load in this release?

Normally see that happen whenever I load a new font, but it seems to be happening all the time now.
