Re; viewtopic.php?f=24&t=15665
first time I've attempted using more than two paths (usually I go from one to another for an extruded effect), however I'm obviously not understanding something as I can only mange to 'inbetween' in a straight line, my guide isn't working somehow and I can't figure out why, can anyone please advise me?

RJKD - I am no paths expert but the error message is saying that the 2 paths (start and finish) have different characteristics and therfore the script cannot process them.

Normally when I use this effect, I duplicate the first path then move it or scale it and then process the script. Occassionally that moving, rotating, reshaping delivers your error message. Hope this helps.

Sample below - curved path flipped horizontally and vertically, then used path inbetweener and then stroked -

I'm ready to bet that the triangle on the left is really 4 points with the 4th point overlapping the first, while the one on the right is just 3 points, with the flag that tells gimp to auto-close it (ie, draw the 3rd side from the 3rd point back to the first).

My ofn-path-edits script has a "Path summary" function that will likely confirm this.

Some basic information on paths: https://www.gimp-forum.net/Thread-Paths-Basics

Thankyou for your replies and patience. I watched rich2005's short video again and paid proper attention - I'm embarrassed to say I hadn't asked ofnuts path inbetweener to use a guide path (I had it set to "no")
