Hello,

I am trying to resize a existing image. The original size is 900 * 858 px (It can be anything) and I want to make this image to size 16 * 15 px (Again, it can be anything).

Now I have tried every possible solutions scale/change print size/Fit Layer to Canvas/Fit Canvas to Img ...etc etc. But I just can seem to resize the image without bluriness.

My image is a transparent png, I tried with a non-transparent(basic) image but either ways the result is blurry.

Can someone tell me a foolproof way to do it?

Thanks

Ofnuts will help you with this one. As odd as it sounds I seem to recall you have to apply blur before reducing but I can't remember the ratio. It's all to do with mathematics! :?

Ofnuts can often perform miracles but in this case, perhaps not ;)

All depends an the image, but 900 pix -> 16 pix is a big jump.

For CGI type graphics sometimes setting interpolation to none works

but not for regular graphics.

Scaling down say 50% then a small pre-blur: File -> Gaussian blur with value 2 then Scale Image using either lancos or bilinear.

Scaling down to less than 25%, IMHO never going to be wonderful, again depends on original image.

I have read the OfNut process - Thanks Erisian and rich2005 process. Will try both individually and see if I can get a resultant o/p.

Also I was considering being able to change by png img to a svg, since the o/p is for the web? Any thoughts if that can help.

Thanks

It can, if you do it from scratch and keep it very simple.
