But not new to GIMP. I've been using it off and on for about 5 years now on an as needed basis. I'm making the transition from Photoshop because: Reasons.

I consider myself on the beginning side of an intermediate user, and I'm on a somewhat current Mac. I'll contribute here when I can, but mostly I'm going to have questions as to how to duplicate techniques that I already know from other photo manipulation programs to which I have access.
