Portables are available by both Samj and Partha.

Just checked both sites; neither has them compiled with the final release yet, but I suspect they will do so shortly. :)

The .AppImage of Linux already around, just yesterday I found it: :jumpclap :jumpclap

https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-appimage/releases
(choose the gimp-git-2.10.1-20180428.glibc2.15-x86_64)

And wow, just as the developer promised, brush engine is waaaaay faster compared to GimP 2.8 or GimP 2.10 RC1... :jumpclap :jumpclap
Now I need to build my own brush/tool presets... :ninja

I've been running the Appimge for a couple of days now. He still has not fixed the issue with the scheme scripts not showing up. He said he's working on it though. Overall it works very well and comes with some plugins already like G'mic 2.2.3, LiquidRescale, and Resynthesize. I never used the latter two before, so don't know what they are for.

I have downloaded Gimp from https://download.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v2.10/windows/

The file I downloaded was https://download.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v2.1 ... -setup.exe

I want to know if the file I downloaded was the correct one. I'm running windows 10.

I have Windows 10. Norton virus software. I always get warnings and quarantines from Norton when I download Gimp or G'MIC. I just tell it to "run anyway" and it does.

Yes,
but I feel that it's better to get it for the direct gimp.org download.

I have read just about all the threads on the new Gimp
What I would like to know is, does GMIC work in this version?
I just downloaded the newest GMIC version but does it work in the new Gimp?
Also, does Bevel Reflect Logo work?

It just came out yesterday! Check their main download page.
I'd link it to you, but the forum says I'm too new to post off site URLs.

I can vouch for Samj's portable that G'MIC works without problems. Apparently G'MIC qt now works with the official version. http://gimpchat.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=16465

Haven't tried Bevel Reflect Logo yet.

G'mic has compiled a version for Gimp 2.10, but only in Windows, not Linux yet. BevelReflectLogo works fine in the Windows install and the Linux flatpak or PPA install.

Indeed, BRL works. Unfortunately, I noticed yet another plugin gone, though (while doing this render). Small Tiles is now missing. Had to use G'MIC to do that (and a few other things) to get the rose reflections right for the final result. :)

Ok so I seen a couple of responses the Gmic is working fine, However, I downloaded it this morning since It was not in Gimp 2.10 after I got the latest stable version. I am running Windows 7 64 bit. also in the past Gimp installed in a different location. ( user location) the latest version is in user/App Data/ Roaming which is ok. However when I go to look at gimp in the plug in folder I see all my Gmic plugins there. When I open gimp, I cant find it anywhere. When I open the "Script fu" Console to search for it. It does not exist >_< very Frustrating. Its there but Gimp does not recognize it. Also when I went to Install Gmic it wanted to put it back in Gimp 2.8 wich is still on my computer, It did not even See 2.10, I had to redirect the download to Gimp 2.10. Any Help would be great. I miss my GMIC filters. I get no errors what so wever when opening Gimp.

The reason your old Gmic, and all other plugins (and scripts) are in the user/AppData/Roaming/Gimp/2.10
is because if you have the .gimp-2.8 folder in user location when you install 2.10, they will be copied in the new location.
You can't see entry for Gmic, because it's not compatible.

First you have to get rid of the old Gmic and its dependencies, the dlls etc. and then move the new Gmic,
that works in 2.10, into the plugins folder.
I always recommend people to keep Gmic, and other plugins that require dll files in their own separate folders.
It helps to avoid the mess. Then inside Gimp you enable them from File/Preferences/Folders/plugins.

I suggest you to rename the old .gimp-2.8 folder to something else if you want to keep it as a backup.
Clean the new 2.10 plugins folder and add manually the plugins that you want to use.
Latest 2.10 build supports old 32-bit plugins but they all do not work. Even if you don't get error pop-up when you launch Gimp, it does not necessarily mean a plugin will work. You just have to test them one by one.

I got Gmic working because I ended up downloading the Samj portible version

I cannot find the bevel reflect Logo script, that I used a lot

I was also fond of one of Gretchens scripts that was called something like Buetify? IDK

The latest AppImage now works with scheme scripts: https://github.com/aferrero2707/gimp-ap ... 4.AppImage

And yes, no problem with BevelReflectLogo...
