I suggest you to rename the old .gimp-2.8 folder to something else if you want to keep it as a backup.
Clean the new 2.10 plugins folder and add manually the plugins that you want to use.
Latest 2.10 build supports old 32-bit plugins but they all do not work. Even if you don't get error pop-up when you launch Gimp, it does not necessarily mean a plugin will work. You just have to test them one by one.[/quote]
So if I rename Gimp2.8 to Gimp2.8backup I can then install 2.10 and have both whilst I am testing it out? TIA

@Deblk, yes but I highly recommend using portable now.
I ran into "entry not found" plugin problems anyway when i had both official versions same time in C:/Program Files

After I decided to uninstall 2.10, I can't uninstall my 2.8 anymore via Control Panel and lost the icon for it.
If you need old .exe plugins 2.8 is better until it's possible to use em in 2.10.
I think many old plugins have become irrelevant with Gimp's internal development, but it's hard to change a habit.

There seems to be some other bugs too like browsing the C: with 2.10
On Linux Gimp 2.10 has less problems, but it isn't a surprise.

Yeah; I backed up my user folder before installing 2.10 and that made it much easier to re-install 2.8.22 after I removed 2.10. Going portable until they allow both 2.8x and 2.10x to co-exist. Not happy that there is now no support for Mathmap. :)

Does anyone have a scrolling bar script for 2.10? I cannot get mine to work. This would be for the .scm scripts. I'll probably need a new one for the python scripts also.
