This is a Xaos fractal render that I took into Gimp. Got rid of the large black hole and replaced it with something more interesting. Used Gmic to create the hexagons.

G'day Kimba.
Fractals, hexagons and coffee beans - nice :cool
I got interested in fractals using Xaos. You can zoom down for a long time until you see something worth saving. Apparently fractals are made from both 'real' and 'imaginary' numbers.
Using Gimp as the basis of your workflow is an excellent idea.

G'day Tas. Xaos is fun. If you get a boring fractal try hitting the 'M' key. It toggles between Mandelbrot and Julia. I found a talk on fractals and maths on Youtube which helped me understand the formulas a bit.
