I wanted to use the tutorial of this topic because the result is very beautiful but with the Cartoon filter, I have this message:

Do you have the correct Flamboyance for 2.10 and also the cartoon script?

1) I do not have a special cartoon, I just wanted to use G'Mic / Artistic / Cartoon
2) I downloaded the Flamboyant BA indicated in the first post (the one of September 19, 2017) and put in Gimp-2.10.8_Port \ Preferences \ plug-ins \ BA_Flamboyance_v4
and it appears well in the menu bar but I did not understand how to use it and I just started again and I had other error messages

Just tried this effect for the first time using G'mic flamboyance filter. Not too shabby I think...

Just noticed that samj posted a flamboyance test under test filters within G'MIC itself. I no longer have a working flamboyance python preset but samj's implementation works fine. Can also just do it all the manual way as I originally outlined as well. :)

Level_0,

I believe you need a different version. I will attach mine which works in Gimp 2.10.8.
Have an updated G'Mic and use the highest no. for your version. It will not be listed as when Brian wrote the script it was not available then but works. (The highest version number listed is 2.2.3.)

Place the plug_in in your Gimp-2.10 (Samj)\Preference\Plug_in folder. Remove any other Flamboyance scripts in your plug_ins to avoid interference.

Then shut down Gimp and then Restart it so that it will be included in the Plugs_in your menu. I have this plug in showing in Filters\Brian\Flamboyance.

Not sure why, but I don't seem to see any of Brian's filters that I've installed in the past after I upgraded to GIMP 2.10 even though the python plugins are in my user>plugins folder in GIMP. Not sure what the reason for this is. :)

Lyle, I think Dinasset was able to change something that let Flamboyance work in 2.10 but Brian has not altered his scripts yet. Said he wanted to wait until not so many changes occurring so he is not continually fixing the same scripts to work.

I guess I'll then use samj's preset if I'm lazy or just do the manual method until then, Pat. Well have to soon hit the sack for another 10hr tomorrow (and 14hr Sun). You all have a great weekend. :)

Effectively and yet I did a search in the filters but with the words "BA flamboyance" ..and the search had not found anything.

thanks Pat625 Image, I just downloaded it and install.
And it is well in Filters \ Brian \ Flamboyance while the precedent was in the menu bar.

Edit: I will test the 2 this weekend :)

After several tests, I stop tonight and I 'll resume an other day. :)
from the project started with the flower, the script has created another one with 6 layers and I do not know if I have to flatten them.
It is too bad there is not a video of this tutorial because Google translate does not give a very clear translation, and without screenshots of different layers and settings of the script, I'm stuck ...Image

Level_0, I am not certain as to which types of instruction that you want but I have put tutorial together that I hope will get you started with the basics. I have put it into a .pdf format for anyone who wishes to read it. Hope this helps.

I've found you get better results using DreamSmoothing than Flamboyance in my opinion..
