It's been quite a few years since I heard from him. Was curious if anyone else has been in contact with him. The emails I sent went through, although he has never replied.

Yeah; last I heard he said he was taking a trip to Africa as I recall. That had to be over 8 years ago, Mahvin. Not sure what happen, but the conspiracy guy in me feels he's gone unfortunately. I was hoping I was wrong but time's proven otherwise.

Haven't seen hide nor hair of PhotoComix anywhere on the web.
:(
I fear that Lyle may be correct.

It's so sad. I really loved tossing out ideas with him on the GMIC filters and enjoyed viewing his many contributions of photos of same filters.

I'm with you on that.
I think other here feel the same way,
about PhotoComix's contributions.

I understand PhotoComix was Italian. Italy had colonies and some wars in Africa but maybe that had nothing to do with his disappearance.
Most North African countries are unfortunately very dangerous. They used to say about Asia 'cigarettes are cheap and so is life".
I've been using 'PhotoComix Smoothing' from G'MIC on multiple layers with default settings this week. At least there is some legacy.

It would be great if he dropped bye again but it will probably not happen now after 8 years as Lyle says.

I was immediately seduced by Photocomix patterns, and not seeing him on the forum I had the intuition that he was very sick or worse. It is always very sad when a user very active on a forum disappears because links have been created, even if it has only been considered virtually.
Using his patterns and filters is to think of him with gratitude and send him a wink in the afterlife.

In my exploration of the forum, I also noticed the absence of Gnu Tux.

AnMal and I recently discussed the disappearance of PC and how we miss him. I used to love his 3D fractal worlds.

level_0 - I believe Gnu Tux might still be looking in from time to time.

I’m here a lot. Just not posting. 13 hour days take its toll.
