This should work on other Mac OS as well.

Saving a script in Mac OS X 10.6.7

1. Paste the script into Text Edit

2. Go to the text edit menu bar Format/Make Plain Text. This changes the appearance of the text.

3. Then go to File/Save All. Uncheck the extension box and take out the .txt from the title and replace it with .scm and then click save and save to desktop. This will place a .scm file on the desktop. Once there you can install it in the same manner you install other scripts and plug ins.

I noticed that there was a closing bracket right at the very bottom of that script text....I hope they dont leave it out as its part of the script I think.
I'm ok to do those things if I can. But I am thinking there needs to be a specific thread for mac tutorials. I've PM'd O to ask if we can have one. Then we could move them all into that for all mac users.

hmmm, my osx doesn't work exactly like this. When I paste the script into text edit, I dont' have the option to make plain text...just make rich text, so it must already be in plain text. Then in the file options, the save all is greyed out. So I just put the downloaded script onto my desktop then dragged and dropped it into the scripts file...and it seems that it worked. I just need to test it out now.

*works fine

10.6.7
but I still can just download it, take it from the download file in finder (can't take if from the download stack), put it on desktop then into the script folder all using drag and drop. I would just go directly from download in finder to gimp scripts but can't seem to have two finders open at the same time for the navigation...I'm sure it can be done, I just haven't figured it out yet.

its great...just put it on over the top of Lion and it upgrades...if you dont have a trackpad and/or a mighty mouse it operates exactly as SnowLeopard under the hood.
