I think they just switch off for night and hibernate in complete forgetfulness.

Sorry for the belated reply, folks (work weekend swings). Yeah, the tutorial is more for flow then absolute. I created this one by first feeding the image into Stylize with a pattern that I rendered using Harry's Filters (Rasperry pattern preset) and then feed the result into my Make Squiggly present adding another Make Squiggly preset run on the original image and blended together. As for the title reference, I guess I'm not the only one that appreciates Phillip K. Dick's genius.

I found this replicant-in-the-making effect a little while ago sort of hiding in Gimpressionist. Tweaked the Felt Marker preset brush from Shape04 (the triangles) and applied the effect, and changed the brush to VID_stdline and applied that effect as well. Lylejk, thank you. From time to time I make stumblings toward SCM and PY scripting. Recently gave Gimpressionist another look and thought a 44-line fixed-format preset was something closer to what I could realistically manage.
