Well, youssef, I looked in both of my fonts folders: System and Gimp2.6 fonts, and have a total of 605 fonts. Now that's kind of like picking a favorite bee from a hive ... where to start?

Bleeding Cowboys
Bookworm
Comic book medium
Flintstone thin
Grinched
Jungle Fever
Komika Boogie
Seabird
Yikes!

That's just a few. No one can tell what another person would like.

If you don't like dafont you probably won't like other sites. I think it's about the best.

Some of my favorite and best fonts came from Shy Foundry. I've never downloaded what I call a "bad" font from them. Check them out. They have an excellent variety of fonts.

We have a sticky thread in the resources section for members to share their font site links.

viewtopic.php?f=12&t=78

You might find some good sites there and feel free to contribute any new ones you might come across.

One of my fav fonts is futura greek medium...it took me hours to find, as I was trying to match a font on a promo. Actually, it's not as bold/wide as I'd like, but the wider ones available didn't have the pointy tops.
This is what I would like to find (the main word Queen) ...anyone? anyone? lol.

Take a look at this one called Motor Oil, Toni. Looks like the same font to me. I typed in the word QUEEN as the preview and it seems to have stuck for the link, too. :-D

Found it in daFont. In themes, under Basic, I chose Sans Serif. Then I typed QUEEN in the font preview window and set the size to large and clicked the Submit button.

I browsed, looking for a pointy-top N and voila! If it hadn't shown up in there I wasn't going to go any farther.

If You are having problems getting a particular font, don't forget that there is still the old "Freetext" plugin that allows you to manipulate any font, by spacing, thickness, height and slant. I use this plugin sometimes when the Text Tool in the Toolbox does not allow me sufficient control. You can use this tool to "slant" the type even if there is no italic version of the font.

The filter can be obtained from Freetype Thanks to PhotoComix!

This filter, although old, works with Gimp 2.6.9. for Windows

Cheers Wbool63
