I've been thinking dimensions all wrong. GIMP has requirements in how our 3D will be accepted. L/R
So if i want to make a brush that has 360 cells (i want each brushcell to be rotated by 1°, because i need a very precise brush), can i split them to more than one dimension ?
100 cells to dimension 1-3 and the remaining 60 to dimension 4 ?
Not what I am saying at all. The 3D array model GIMP uses require users to keep the cell layers in sequence, if you observe the layer model for the hands more closely, it follows a specific standard for the dimensions they are providing as the example. Angular has to show angles in cells, which is TOP to BOTTOM. In the second dimension it goes to incremental, in a LEFT to RIGHT direction (cells are only 2 across, so it picks 2 cells incrementally) and finally 3rd dimension is random which is also LEFT or RIGHT, it picks either the BLUE hand or the BLACK hand.
Angular is only TOP to BOTTOM in their example, you could also make it go LEFT to RIGHT. Anything beyond a simple one dimension brush will require fewer options in order for the pipe to choose between them effectively, like YES or NO or BLUE and BLACK. One dimension pipes don't need anything to choose from, so the cell layout can be however you like it. When it comes to using more than one dimension, your layout must work within the boundaries of the selections you're using. It's interesting that they have 3 dimension selections just for pressure tablets and pens.
