After a long period of assessment, I'm ready to release this style.
Also this plugin is using G'mic Engrave, as the previous two I released.
But in this case I'm trying to approach the look of a
real Engraving.
The base material can be wood, stone, or any flat coloured material (plastic?).
The options in the filters are:
- colour of the base material: the user can choose among many predefined colours or enter directly the colour (default is a mid gray)
- pattern of the base material: it can be any pattern, but the best choice is to point to a wood pattern or a stone pattern (default is the standard Gimp pattern "Pine", but the user can have installed nice wood and stone patterns and choose among them -
I attach some)
- reinforce engraving on top: the user can opt for a more evident engraving (simple, embossed, bump-mapped)
- add a gradient frame to the final outcome: the frame is created applying a gradient generated on the base of the colours of the source image (12). If you choose to do the frame, you must have the
GT bevel installed
Here the filter:

EDIT 2.12
If you encounter performance problems when asking to have the frame, use this version below: the output size has been set to 3000 instead of 4000 and the resizing step -responsible of the delay- is not performed, because 3000 is also the work size during the process. Do not change the default output size otherwise you will encounter again the problem of resizingversion updated:
--- removed, see below ---EDIT 5.12
Corrected the test for rescaling (sometimes it didn't work properly, so that you got rescaling even if chosen size=3000)version updated:

EDIT 2: Should you still have problems, check: Gimp/Edit(Preferences and see which is the number of threads: if not 1, set it to 1, Gimp has still problems in managing more than 1 thread
