Maybe the gentlemanbeggar source enabled was a problem also for you,
Again best solution is just download the newer version (should be already available ) but you may even try to uncheck his source and refresh (that may be sufficent for the filters to show up... again not sure they will work with 1.4.9.3 but try is harmless)

Everyone was allowed in Additional filters and had been for some time.

I clicked the refresh button several times in gmic, but still no PhotoComiX filters. I went into Additional filters one more time and clicked the Apply button and finally your filters showed up.

The image layer duplicated and BW Steampunk Pencil applied to top layer of image and set to Value mode.

The parrots and the BG look a bit too blurred, was your intention ?
The blur is controlled by the Lubrication slider and, if "painter touch " is activated by the Painter Smoothness.

Maybe if using also "painter touch" Lubrication should be set to 0

The very slight amount of Lubrication aka gaussian blur (default is less than 1px, max less then 2 , i calculated the max for large images, even more for large images to be scaled down at the end, in that case a slight blur may improve the result of scaling down and, weird as may sound, give sharper images) applied by Lubrication should not blur the image in a too perceptible way

But even a slight blur may interfere with the GREYCstoration effect (the painter module) in case raise the Painter's Touch Sharpness should balance

I just used the default settings.

Here, I played with them a bit.

I will check better the default, but since one of the component works on a local scale (=give quite different effect depending on image size ) is almost impossible create a default good for image of different size

Glad you like, i just testing a new version (the different is a option for histogram equalization ) i think i will upload in a few hours
and a Color version is coming (took long because i tend to space out when testing the different merging mode i intend to use )

AARGHH !!

I tested carefully the new version "BW-SteamPunk Pencil 2" before upload and everything was working smoothly, but trying now the filter in my flter source give a preview error and doesn't work.
Should be a error of copy and paste the problem is that i modify my local copy and the new version is not working yet


well i hope to fix soon anyway the very first version is still available and works
