I would really want to know how to do this:

I think you did a great job at first attempt.
Here is one i did with a green fruit.

The trick is getting the colors the same around the eyes and mouth as the color of the fruit.
To do that select the eye color itself and colorize it.
Use the color picker on the apple layer or fruit layer, and if needed write down the color values of Hue and saturation.
Then when you use the colorize filter on the nose and mouth layers, you will be pretty close just adjust the last setting (lighting). :)

thank you guys :) I'm glad you like it.,but I still think there is another way to do it.
I found this video for gimp.
I tried to do it in that way but I can't accomplish that same look especially around the cheeks.

You can also copy the entire face and fill it with a whole color, or pattern then set that layer above the face and in overlay mode.Like i did with this image using the fur pattern in Gimp. :)
