Hey. Me again.
I got a recent order, and the KB size is too big for the site's limits. Anyone know how to resize KB on an image without affecting the image itself?

You can save as a lower quality... but other than that I have no idea. or add more compression

What Willy said.
Save it as a jpg and slowly reduce the quality until the file size is small enough. For most files, a quality of 90 is virtually indistinguishable from the original but typically has 1/10 the file size. Even a quality of 85 (the GIMP default) is excellent for viewing.

Assuming, of course, that we are talking about JPG files :)

I use RIOT it works very well ... just Google it.There is a plug-in for Gimp, and a stand alone version. :)

I had a problem with this on youtube for my channel background! You could use the Save for Web plugin with gimp 2.6 or higher... Basically it shows you the file size of your image before you save it. To lower it, the best way i would use would be to reduce the number of colors on the PNG 8 section.

I have heard that webmasters use a thing called Irfanview which is a free download for resizing jpegs...on a mac they can be resized using preview or freephotoconverter3, the difference in quality being unoticeable to the average eye
