Location to put binaries, they do
NOT go in the normal plugins folder.
Windows C:\Users\(USERNAME)\AppData\Local\gegl-0.4\plug-ins
Linux /home/(USERNAME)/.local/share/gegl-0.4/plug-ins
Linux (Flatpak includes Chromebook)
/home/(USERNAME)/.var/app/org.gimp.GIMP/data/gegl-0.4/plug-ins
Then restart Gimp and go to GEGL Operations and look for "Plastic wrap" if you use Gimp 2.99.16+ you will see this filter in filters>light and shadow>plastic wrap. In 2.10 it is only in GEGL Operations drop down list.
Fun facts and comments about this pluginThis plugin is directly inspired by Adobe Photoshop CS2's "plastic wrap" filter.
During development it was planned for this plugin to use both my bevel and threshold alpha 2 plugin before I ditched them in favor of really complex node connections. This means my plugin only needs one binary to work "plastic_wrapping"
I spent over a year trying to make a plastic wrap plugin like this but failed until today.
