Does anyone know if there is a gimp plugin that enable Photoshop plugins to work in gimp?

Only one; PSPI. Unfortunately, after GIMP 2.6.8 (believe that was the one), the GIMP developers broke PSPI and only non FilterMeister compiled filters will work (which is unfortunate since a significant number of filters were created using FilterMeister). If you have python installed, you can use Shellout to call an external PS compatible program to execute the filter. :)

As a side not, the only PS filters that I run directly in GIMP is Impressionist (thanks to RobA), and GML Matting for extractions. Every other PS compatible filter that I use I execute via Shellout and use XnView to run them. :)

Forgot about Filter Factory Convertor. Do occasionally use this, but you need to either convert those type 8bf's to guf files or download a guf file from folks who have already done this. Very cool plugin to have though as well. FFC is based on the User Filter which works for Ubuntu users but don't believe so for Window Users, but with FFC, who cares. lol

For FFC (that IS the User Filter,i renamed the Windows version because nobody was able to guess from its name what was for, while Filter Factory should ring some bells in who used PS filter, ... but is the same app)
I suggest a alternative download from http://photocomix-resources.deviantart. ... /#/d1on0rm

the difference is iin a included folder with ALL the Filter Factory filters already converted in guf
Note that even if my Deviantart pages are quite old ( I can't login from long time, ) that IS still the last version

So even if you use linux may be a good idea get that, at least to grab the filters

Back to the use of "normal" PS filters (FFC need the filter code can't run compiled 8bf) i will discorage the use of PSPI and suggest the ShellOut script and Xnview.

That works also in Linux BUT in linux you MUST use the WINDOWS version of xnview ,do that require (only) have WINE installed

BTW happy to be able to post again after so long
I prefer avoid details but if there is something worse than herpex is a herpex attacking the eyes, well at least now i may use one of the 2 for more then 5 minutes

:)

Herpes attacking the eyes is pretty bad PC. Not sure what anti-virals are available, but you may want to show your doctor this info since it promises to kill all viruses leaving healthy cells intact. :)

That's why, i tried installing in 2.7 and it will not work. :)
It's a different DLL file compiled differently than 2.6.11.

Perhaps you could bring it up to Partha if the source is available.

Not aware of a compile of Filter Factory plugin for 64-bit OS and I bet even the 32-bit GIMP 2.7 may have problems with older plugins; just not sure. Also haven't found a PSPI compile for 64-bit OS. Still, Shellout does work with the 64-bit GIMP 2.7 compile. Just as a side note, Sylvie (samj) just shared with me a link to a standalone compile for the GIMP 27. 64-bit that doens't use portableapps. It works pretty good too, but I've not really tested it and I hope samj doesn't mind me sharing that link with you all just in case others may want to test it. You have to launch GIMP using the batch file (Start_Gimp_In_English.bat if using English) since it uses that special program that I mentioned. :)

You are having a DLL conflict. If you are using Gimp 2.7.3 from my website then you already have libintl-8.dll which does not have this issue. Just rename the libintl-8.dll that came with your plugin to something else (like libintl-8.old) and restart Gimp. See if this goes away.

That should fix IF you are using the 32 bit version of gimp 2.7, if you have at 64 bit i am afraid you will have to wait for the FFC recompiled for 64 bit (but anyway you may try, no risk in that )

Anyway that is one of the reason why is suggested use the stable version (Gimp 2.6), on the other hand actually more and more plugins are recompiled to work with gimp 2.7.

About use the 64 or the 32bit version of gimp 2.7, don't make sense use the 64 bit version if you have less then 3GB of Ram, is only worth if you have more

To clear the last point, gimp at 32 bit run well also on 64 bit computers, (only limit can't use more then 3GB ram)...
Gimp at 64 bit may use only plugins compiled for 64 bit , Partha and Samij already recompiled many plugin to works at 64 bit, but the rest are only available at 32 bit (no problem for Script-Fu or python script, this is only for compiled plugin )
