i was sorting my little collection of brushes, then i thought that was a nice idea share them..i don't claim to be the author they came from most various sources..the good new is that are categorized each group in its folder..well more or less

the bad new is that you may get lost...are only 115 MB zipped once extracted should be about 422 MB,

But in change please tell me wich group you found more useful and /or if some crappy one slipped in

DOWNLOAD http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MWL1L7ZD

OH ..WAIT!! the "_installed" folder does NOT contain the default gimp brushes but a group that i installed in my own gimp..
(the other group were installed/unistalled by gurm depending from what i was planning to do )

Obviously when i wrote "few brushes" i was kidding, as you may have suspected when i said that was a 115 MB dl and more then 400MB when unzipped

PS Lorri are you around ?

you did ask me for bird brushes, there should be a full folder of birds, several types of birds in several styles
and also grass ,foliages, bushes, tree, moon clouds. stars ...

The acrylic brushes are ultra cool. They look like real acrylic paint. I installed the bottom one in the list to try.

This is just a small image I made using the acrylic brush set to using a gradient for color. Made it random sizes in brush dynamics. Could make some cool bgs with the brush.

Yes PC patterns (and anything else) welcome.
Thanks in advance.

I made the mistake of loading a lot of the brushes into my ./gimp/brushes directory.
That makes picking a brush almost impossible.
I managed to install GURM which fortunately will also work in Linux.
All you have to do is change the addressing syntax from Windows to Linux.
Now I am going to sort the brushes and store them in different directories.
Gerard.

It's great having GURM.I just download a brush set and unzip it to my C:\GIMP\Brushes directory.
Then i browse to the directory and delete all the garbage files in there. :)

PC, the download site plays silly games like making you wait 30 seconds etc. I will be happy to host them for you if you like. Let me know.

@Partha
Fine
all brushes were or under CC or with similar condition but i couldn't yet take well for author credit

Good new , i would have no problem to add the author list but only as..
"The brushes included in this pack were created by---and here the long list
I bookmarked them all, so no issues here i may do it ,even with their links( a very boring task but possible)

But no hope i may indicate the author of each brush or group of brush, only a collective credit is doable,

Megaupload has been seized by the FBI due to copyright violations.

I have it uploaded to Mediafire somewhere but i have 12 gigs there of files so i need the name. :)

I am sure all of us together can get a nice brush package together again. :)

Yeah; saw that about Megaupload the other day. Just wait til they pass the idiotic copyright law. Definitely sad stuff. :)

oh sure i lost trace of THAT pack on my HD but i still have tons of pack of brush...weird because most of time i use just the simplest parametric brush (mostly the round one )

but if i didn't use much was because they could not be tagged before, i was loosing more time to let say find a moon brush that was already installed then en to search for a NASA image of the Moon to paste in the clipboard and use as new brush.

GURM help a lot but is tagging the best answer...but sorry going OT i may well upload another pack

But the real challenge , and if you like this may be a team work would be no much make a huge pack but one with with the obsolete crap filtered away with only the very best

I explain better most brushes were done thinking to a old gimp brush engine , a engine that COULD NOT RESCALE THE BRUSH ( AS NOW ) so many brush pack contained often tons of duplicates at different sizes of the same image, and that can't tag the brushes

BUT now have the same brush at all sizes is just is a nonsense only the bigger size at higher resolution is needed

i would like know more about the brush tagging, if that works now utility and quality of brushes will also depend in a close future that may start even now on how smartly are tagged
No sense to have beautiful brushes if could not be found except after long search
