Does anyone know if there's a way to access this tool now that the GIMP Registry is down? Or is there a newer plugin that does something similar?

I don't know if it works in Win10, remember trying it years ago.

Then there are the sample gradient along path by RobA that I've been using often, and gradient from image.
"This script simply scales the image to be 1 px high and samples across it, so it only works correctly with horizontal gratent images."

They work in 2.10. Sample gradient along path is the better one, but I attached both if you want to try out.
Switch to gradients toolbox and use the triangle to open gradients menu.

Works fine in the newest version windows 10.
