Yeah; it actually helped on more then one occasion Rob; can't beat the price either (i.e., free for personal use). One of many defense mechanisms that I use and trust me when I tell you that there is no anti-virus/malware program good enough to protect your system. I double-sandbox (virtualized XP combined with Sandboxie; never or extremely rarely browse in Win7 itself despite it's security claims) and so far I know of no way to break this setup (other then personal stupidity which so far I've not experienced; lol). Still, I do use a rudimentary anti-trojan (not even a full fledged virus program; it's called Threatfire and is really designed to be used in parallel with another anti-virus program, but again, I just keep this program around as a crutch and it has popped off on occasion when a site that I got a few of my clipart stuff (MediaMilitia) got infected a while back; they are back to normal now; just deleted my sandboxie session and all was well anyway) built in firewall for XP (VM), and, of course Sandboxie; well worth the money. Use to be lifetime, but tzuk now changed the licensing for new users (lucky I am; lol) but still worth it. Never tried Forcefield (ZoneAlarm's Sandbox) or the few others that I know of but if you want to protect your system, you play in the Sandbox; keep your main system prestine. Yes, I'm paranoid and have been accused of such, but, if you nearly loose your whole college senior design project files (yes, that happened to our group; fortunately our TL kept a secure backup and we didn't loose too much) you would be paranoid too. Also, before I got laid off, I repaired PCs for over 5 years and seen more then I wished and know that there is no such thing as too much protection, but I came up with a solution for me since I know an anti-virus/firewall alone is garbage. Virtualization, DNS filtering, and Virtualization is key to a good secure setup. I keep my Win7 protected with MSE and Built in Firewall, and also keep my XP VM protected as stated earlier, but the protection that I depend on the most is virtualization. Now I'll get off my soapbox again (see what you got me to do Rob; lol).
