Desperate times ts; Desperate times make folk do stupid things. Lots of steel that can be smelted. Look for the nearest steel foundry. :)

Your mission, should you decide to accept it: Dismantle and remove the old Lawrence County steel bridge.

It would have been nice if someone could have found a picture of that old bridge. The thieves apparently cut it up with a blow torch and hauled it away.

Approx. value of the steel: $100,000.

Today's big question? If a blow torch is cutting a bridge in the woods, does it make a sound?

Appaently not.

I am guessing someone with a plasma torch would be the obvious suspect. :lol
To be honest the thief is probably the company that owns the bridge.
Probably figured they would close the bridge, dismantle it, and sell the steel.
Then collect the insurance money. :)

Why do a news segment on a missing bridge at night? More weirdness.

Well, at least you can rule out the government. 50 foot span, 20 foot wide that would have take a few million dollars a budget over spend and at least two years if not more. No I have feeling this was Daryl and his other brother Daryl. Ill schooled but efficient. They'd still need some seriously heavy equipment to haul it away and NObody say ANYTHING?! WOW!

For money, Lorri. The steel in the bridge is estimated to be worth $100,000.00. That's a sizable chunk of change.

So the Jones boys got caught. That is good. Who knows what one successful bridge heist might have turned into? Sudden bridge disappearances across the country?

Now here's me thinking that if you were to actually want to have a bridge removed -- for example, in order to build a new, improved one -- $5000 would be a bargain and these Jones boys would be the ones to hire.
