This one will drive many here insane (almost did me {but I might actually already be}; lol). $4.3 million for a picture? Really? Says, this guy uses artistic techniques with some digital manipulations for his art. Again, I need an agent me thinks. lol

I'm thinking about changing my last name to Krolsky. That's got to be it. What do you all think? lol

Lyle, this might seem to be an absurd observation/comment, but I think any one of us has a 4 million dollar photograph in us.

I agree. Just need to get a name for yourself and it looks like people will buy anything.

Wonder who would buy any of the ones in the link. They really aren't appealing to me.

I saw this yesterday Lyle. My jaw hit the floor...seriously, if you're going to spend millions of dollars on a photo, why pick such a boring photo that (in my opinion) doesn't even have a good composition? The freaking sky is cutting the photo in two, and it's not like the exposure is all that grand.

It's all in the authors name. :)
Somebody with 20 billion dollars net worth probably bought it and too them 4 mil is a drop in the bucket.
Sorta like me going out and buying a 40 dollar vase.

The person who bought it probably will place a 1 million dollar frame around it and insure it for 8 million. :lol

The more money you have the more expensive your tastes are.

I'm no art experts .. faaaaaaaaar from it nor am I a photography guru. But! I can't tell you one thing. I've seen more digital art HERE that is far superior to that 'photo!' The practice runs of some of the techniques are way better then that!

I'm still trying to wrap my tiny pea sized tyrannosaurus rex brain around that! :smiley2

I don't grok it. I find my three-year-old's artwork more artistically pleasing. Actually I think I would find a Rorschach stain more intriguing, haha.

It' got to be one of those it's who you know and not what you know things about life that is completely unfair Nixine. The only thing that keeps me sane is that you can't take it with you. :)

Someone at FredMiranda passed this link to a parallel thread on this topic. There is also a link to a higher rez version of the capture; still not worth $0.25 to me, but hey, who am I to question the buyer of this snapshot. I do have a proposition to the buyer though. I have some virtual swampland for sale if you are interested. lol

I'm a big fan of Lichtenstein artwork, but I'm sorry. $43Million is freaking rediculous but of course that's the jealous side in me. lol

What's sad is the original artist never or rarely ever sees the money or fruits of his labor; the vultures afterwards always get's to partake of the carcass. Sad; very sad. Oh well. :)

I am sorry but it's not worth that kind of money. It's very well done, it's clever, but it's not an awesome show of artistic talent. That being said, if someone is willing to pay, then so be it.
