This works real well for Rocketdock because Rocketdock uses PNG images for it's icons. Rocketdock is a free docking setup for Windows. You can also download the free JPEG to ICON software that supports PNG also. Then convert it to ico format if you wish.

I downloaded and installed Synfig Studio earlier today to find it still didn't include a desktop icon.
So i found a somewhat clear image of their logo and opened it in Inkscape and created my own.
I posted it here so you guys can use it if you want to.
Here is what it looks like in the dock (mine anyway).

The image itself

Sorry i messed up on the bottom left corner a bit.I decided it was good enough though because you really can not tell when it's smaller. That and i am lazy. :lol

Rod I have always used gimp to convert png to ico format how does this differ? I like the icon though.

No difference other than a freeware convertor other than Gimp. :)
I just thought i would share it.I have had it for quite a while and it is very simple to use.
It also auto saves different sizes at once.It does say it can only convert JPEG images but i have had much success with PNG format also.

Thanks for mentioning Gimp could do this though.I probably should have.
Glad you like the icon.

You did realize that the Synfig logo is included in the examples folder, and you can render it at any size or format you desire? You don't have to retrace it in inkscape...

Save this link as logo.sif and open it with Synfig
http://synfig.git.sourceforge.net/git/g ... if;hb=HEAD

Glad you're enjoying Synfig!

Chris

Welcome to Gimp Chat pixelgeek. :)
No i did not realize that.Thank you for letting me know. Also thank you for the file link.
I have a question though.
Why doesn't Synfig Studio just ask to place an icon on the desktop when it installs?
