That's a good example of why locking the alpha channel is so valuable when you are changing colors. It's the easiest and quickest way to do it.

And you can use the selection tools to isolate different regions/letters to color each one differently.

Thanks for the warm welcome! This place is awesome but like I said in my first post I am but a padawan with the gimp. Sure I have used script-fu and tiny-fu to produce some cool logos over the years but this one is out of my reach.

I am in over my head... Drac I have 4 words that need that effect done to them. I have looked all over the place for the correct font to pull it off.

I found this one...
http://www.urbanfonts.com/fonts/DBXL_Nightfever.htm

I think it might work because the center of all the letters is pretty even. There seems to be enough room to put the mountains in the crossbars of some of the letters like the "A G & R".

Anyway and I am not sure if this is against the rules but how much would you charge me to make this logo?

Thanks guys for all of your posts.

Billy - To answer your question regarding price... would you consider letting me do it for say....zip, zilch, nada, nothing or perhaps even free? Heck, I'll even do it for grins. Send me a PM and describe specifically what you want, size, colors, etc., and I'll see what I can do.

Saulgoode - Thanks,That's good information to know. I have notice some anomalous results recently from doing it the other way.

Seems what is really needed here is the ability to select a slice of an image and save it as a .ggr from within Gimp (no matter what OS platform you happen to be using), perhaps with a scheme or python script/plug-in.

Where's the file definition for GIMP gradients?
