Please click this thread for details. Originally, I was using ASCIIgen to create them, but now I'm happy to say David created a cool preset for G'MIC which I used for this result. :)

Lyle, that is so cool.

I tried one of a single apple using white dice. BTW, folks, the filter is in G'MIC > Patterns > Dices

I like the font, Lyle. Your example is very cool.

You gave me an idea, Odin.

Used the text tool, then put a background behind the text and used the filter on it. Tried black and white dice.

Just wondering, but maybe having the dices outline in transparent (instead of gray as it is done now) would be nicer.

EDIT : Done, outline is now in transparent color.

I think I kind of like those lines. I used the color selector to select them, then deleted. I couldn't get the places where they intersected without messing up the black dots.

Now, this should be more flexible with the transparent color (see my post edit above :) ).

You were way, way ahead of me David. Tried with new transparency, put a red bg behind it and did a screen shot. Actually, it's nice to have a choice.

Cool David; was going to ask that transparent feature but had to take Dad a few places and just got back. :)

A very easily implemented variation (resize original to the same dimension of the resulting dice render), then run pixelize to the same dimension as the dice size chosen, then run B/W Stamp and set the resulting layer to difference. :)

OK; another wacky variation this time taking lessons from the truchet experiment a few weeks ago (using layer masks). :)
