Hi there,
I've not been very active on the GC forums despite I promised to participate more in my 'Introduce yourself' message, but well... I have been quite busy with the x-mas day, and I've tried to optimize my time by improving the G'MIC framework instead, when I had some free time.
And today is
St David's day, and I couldn't resist to release a new version of the G'MIC plug-in (numbered 1.5.0.8)
Here is the plug-in page :
http://gmic.sourceforge.net/gimp.shtmlHere is the Changelog :
http://www.flickr.com/groups/gmic/discu ... 192798905/There is nothing really outstanding in this version, from a user point-of-view, but believe me, I've done a lot of work on the internal parser core, making it more optimized than before. I'm not sure the improvement can be really seen in regular uses of the plug-in, but the benchmarks I've done show an improvement of about 20-30% of speed for the parsing task. This doesn't mean all the filters will run 20% faster, just that the parsing of the filter source code is faster than ever, but generally this is far from being the heaviest part of the processing.
Maybe you will see the improvement for filters that use loops heavily (e.g. circlism ?).
Apart from that, there are some new filters, new command shortcuts, and some bug corrections.
Feel free to update. I won't propose new filters for the 1.5.0.7 version anymore.
And of course, happy new year to everyone !
