First, allow me to apologize for my absence. Computer had a catastrophic crash and I just got back up again.

On with the show!

Just made a new one, and I'd like to see yours too!

For those who are unfamiliar, this is now the image that shows when Gimp is loading instead of the standard spheres.

EDIT: Here it is actually loading. I'm going to have to lose the license at the bottom as it interferes with the loading text.

You can make several if you want, just save them as a splash.png. Place them in a folder and name it Splash Folder.

Place the folder in C:\Users\your name\.gimp-2.6

And you may trick gimp to use gif instead then png, to get a animated screenshoot as this

http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7024/6613 ... 07f4_o.gif

..i only post the link because the file is heavy more the 6MB and on the browser may take time to load properly ...but once run may be mesmerizing

In case you have to save as animated gif but rename the gif as gimp-splash.png

The only problem with animated splashes is you only really see the animation after the internals of Gimp are initialized but GIF's and PNG's work.
Create a new folder named splashes and put it in your UserName/.gimp-2.6 folder. Gimp will load a different splash screen each time you load Gimp. I had 110 screens in there at one time.
Here is my splash for Gimp-2.6.11, and Gimp-2.7.5. :)
