I created a pretty easy grass texture (tiled seamless with RR make seamless)...thanks Rob!
I used believe it or not Rodilius on a image with a sky with clouds on it.
I re sized the image to 257x257 pixels.

NICe effect Rod. What is "RR make seemless" and what settings did you use in Rodilius?

Just the defaults in Rodilius, but then other stuff i of course can not remember.
The base effect of the grass look though is Rodilius.

RR Seamless is a script by Rob A that makes tile-able images.
Works much better than Gimps default filter.ie...no ghosting.
I have it attached here.


Just place in the scripts folder and you will find it at
"<Image>/Filters/Map/RR Make Seamless..."

hey i still can't figure out how to make the crop circle thingy with the grass texture, anyone care to teach me???

Pretty somple effect really -
Download the texture above - save it in your patterns folder (no need to rename it to .pat extension)
Open a 1000x1000 image (NEW) and fill with the pattern.
Open Colors>Curves and get all the colors kind of the same saturation.
Now duplicate the layer and Color>Colorize that one to a brownish color.
This is your copy-clip layer.Selections go on this layer then copy paste as new layer and make sure their above the green grass layer.
You can make whatever designs you want.
For each design Alpha to select it go to Filters>Distorts>Whirl and Pinch and play with the settings.
Add a drop shadow and there you go.

Instant crop circles!
Lyle is the pro at this though.He would know more but that's the basics of it.
Lyle even adds people to his!!! His actually look real too.

I made a difficult tile and RR Make Seamless worked wonderfully.
