Just having some fun now. :)

ref: http://www.gz4.it/gdiblasi/pubblicazioni/mosaic.php (scroll all the way down to the java routines; he makes the jar file available too so you can save and run locally which I do).

Same image where I got the other guys, but these are different (bigger; even so, I had to uprez them to make the size relation almost believable; lol). di Blazi's mosaic programs are quite addictive but he places size constrants. Just wish I knew how to java and edit jar files. I would take the contraints out. I know he uses a special GIMP language for java (jGimp) in order to create his Jar files but I'm not really that familiar with it. :)

By the way, in order to get the consistent raised result, I used a solid white as the source image and depended heavily on an external path file for the bricks to follow the path. I used G'MIC's Shape Average to colorize the bricks. :)

Some more experiments. This time I used Rob's Mosaic Helper to create the edge mask and also used G'MIC's morpholgy preset to clean them up some. :)

Thanks for the comments. Just got back (bought a new mouse; sad that my last lazer lasted little over a year; the button went wack and finally got tired of fiddling with it; new mouse supposedly has a battery life of over a year; we shall see) and still trying to get comfortable with my new mouse. :)
