your render seems too blurry & is fighting for attention with the background. i like the colours but perhaps a 18 kb jpeg isn't the best quality. try png if the file size isn't a requirement. the line spacing on the text could be tighter.

i like this one more than the first so keep going!

I find that is a problem with many siggys...the focal seems to blend in so much with the background that i'm not sure what the render/focal is.

There are too many sig tutorials out there to zero in on. It depends what you like. I think it is important though to make your render or foreground stand out so it doesn't get lost in the background, I like to use lights and darks for this, If you use a very dark render then I would use a light back ground or visa versa. Here is one I saw but just type in how to make gimp sigs using Gimp and tons of them will come up. Try using tutorials so you can learn the basics.
