This is what happens when you run G'MIC's cube frame on a frame layer.
First the original.

That is cool, looks like it could be used for a lot of things. I had a heavy bevelled glass mirror like that once.

Thanks Molly. I just tried mapping it to a sphere but my Gimp crashed before I could save it! I'll have another go.

No, it was the first one you did.
If that was clear glass with reflections it would be my mirror, It would be hard to do cuz the bevels would all pick up different reflections. 5 angles in this case.

thanks, there is a Robin sitting on my deck right now eyeing the outside light. He/she thinks she is going to build a nest in it but I don't think so. I will win.

Lucky you guys get a spring, in Florida it's either summer, or a brief winter. No true fall or spring.....;(

Come over ZWard!

Dunno Molly, it might be a very evil robin! Think I found your mirror. Apply cube frame to any photo.

Where in Florida ZWard. I know Florida pretty well, lived down there every winter for over 10 years. It can get pretty cold there too some days.

That's looking beautiful. Wish I had your graphics skills - I'm more of a painter myself. I love the colours you chose as well. :sun

I am was a painter too but not digital. Most of my paintings were watercolors. I like digital art by other people but I don't like doing it. I have a Wacom tablet but don't like that either. You, Griatch, The Shock and others are very skilled with digital art.

That's aything but "plain" Molly. Looks great.

Erisian - The first impression I got after the second and third pic was to perhaps use the technique to create gemstones but with multiple layers with varying opacities to get translucence and various highlights for the refracted light effect. Interesting.....this may warrent further investigation.
