Draconian - I'll explore gemstones I think, especially after seeing Molly's necklace.

Molly - I find digital art easy to slip into but my preference is for traditional media. I find watercolours difficult and tend to go for acrylics and gouache. I think you've got an amazing talent there having seen your opal necklace and the dove as well. Here's the beginning of my first serious attempt at digital graphics - Don't laugh - I think it's awful as well!

I don't see anything wrong with your mirror. I think it is nice.

I discovered this effect when I ran it on a metallic background.

I love the metallic one! You are following in the footsteps of Photocomix and Lyle with making fascinating pattern and effects!

Yep - I like Drac's work. I think these people must be incredibly patient to work as meticulously as they do. Anyway, here's something else, again using the cube frame filter, this time mapped to a sphere.

Some of the best effects happen by accident.

Cool Erisian. I don't know how to do that.

I'll go through it myself again because I can't remember exactly what I did, then I'll let you know.

Here's how I did it.

This is the original image.

Image

Add G'MIC's cube frame with the depth set at 0.4 or less.

Image

Add a new layer, fill it with a light grey to dark grey gradient then run G'MIC/colors/metallic look with the strength setting down to about half way. Do cube frame on this layer with the settings the same as before so that they match. (I forgot to do this bit on the photo but it's a good idea to run G'MIC's rodilius at this stage for some sparkle.)

Image

Put the layer onto hard light and flatten

Image

Add a frame of your choice.

That cube looks really cool but the sphere looks more like some kind of bug more than anything else. Cool effects Erisian.

Very cool Erisian. I believe that adding some Droste effect from the new G'MIC filter would be really cool too :)
