It worked well for me in Gimp-2.6.12 out of the box.

(in my gimp-2.8 copy of the script). it worked in Gimp-2.8 also.
I never bothered to update to 01.

How do you assign an error console?

Go to the little drop down arrow above your modes in your layers dialogs and click where it says add tab, then click error console

Thanks Molly, I must have seen it before but blanked it out because it sounds too technical. ("Error Console??? What on earth is one of them?!")

Upgraded to v0.2. It can now work from a Text layer, from which it takes text, font, font size, kerning, spacing, and layout.

I'm using this plugin with Win 7 (64-bit) and Gimp 2.8. It works great as long as I don't use specialized characters like 'æ ø å'. These work with the vanilla Gimp text-along-path; but with this plugin I get this error:

This is reproducible, with any font. I'd really like to use this plug-in, it blows the standard gimp text to path out of the water.

Fixed (I think). Get version 0.3 from Sourceforge (just uploaded as I post, it may take some time before it is downloadable).

That seems to work, thank you! The tool option when you right-click on the text layer seems to be gone though, but nevermind. I can now produce labels for my homebrew. I owe you one (a brew, not a label)!
