Thanks for the comments and no to Molly's query; only used GIMP 2.8 and am really liking it (finaly a 64-bit GIMP that I can use) despite the issues that I am not going to re-state here. Used a cool GIMP 2.7/2.8 plugin called Clone Layer Tool (similar to Rotate Selection Script-fu but gives you more options though, for this case, Rotate Selection would have worked) for the rotation. I did manually colorize the inside of the boundaries and ran Fencepost Chrome Script-fu for the outline. After the rotation, I blended in some textures that I had already created or downloaded from other places. I also used G'MIC's Solidify preset to fill the transparent areas (thanks again to samj for her compilation skills; hope she upgrades it soon, but 1.5.1.0 is fine for now). Done.

Now this one I like Erisian.

I also irritated because i notice a nasty bug of mathmap running on 2.8...for sure is for Map/sphere but i fear may involve other filters, obviously is a bug from gimp because MM never changed in those years, always same version and build,..
