Thanks for the heads up; hope of the weird issues with rc1 get's patched too. Hope all my GIMP plugins still work as well. No Windows builds yet; maybe will be done by this weekend but not holding my breath. :)

I think they did.

Alexandre

Not a release until we say so.

Truly yours, GIMP developers

P.S. And please don't make us think of evil things like banning your IP for FTP access. Spreading the news is great. Doing it before an official announcement is evil. It's our right to reserve a certain level of surprise. Have some respect.

That's okay though it gave me a chance to update my compile environment. :)
I hadn't updated some libraries since 2011. :P

I was able to compile 2.24.1 by adding this definition into io-gdip-animation.c (line 166):

static void
gdk_pixbuf_gdip_anim_iter_init (GdkPixbufGdipAnimIter *iter)
{
}

Gimpuser.com sure jumped the gun!
This is right from the horses mouth:

I hope when it's finally released the sluggishness caused by color management will be gone.
Gerard.

I have partha's version of GIMP 2.7.6 (GIMP 2.8?) for a while. I am not sure if I should expect anything new in the just announced GIMP 2.8.

Kindly advise.

Besides, Partha's version of Gimp 2.7.6 includes G'MIC etc; hopefully he will also include GAP in his latest release.

I am praying for him as he contemplates.

Cheers.

If it will not i will include in mine, same for Mathmap
But no promises i build on Partha (or Samj) builds so i need his (or her in case of Samj) build to be ready

Anyway on my site you may already found GAP 2.7 (doesn't exist yet a 2.8 version) at 32 bit, and on samj blog Gimp 2.6 (that is still compatible with 2.8...well i didn't test everything but all what i tried works ) for 64 bit

PS all merit to compile GAP 2.7 goes to JamesH, i only hosted in a (hopefully) more easy place to find
