So I downloaded the master branch (formerly known as goat invasion) the other day but couldn't get it to compile... it configures fine with an /opt prefix but when I try to make it gives errors...

Has anyone succesfully compiled it?

@dd,
If you use --prefix=/opt maybe it can't find ../lib/pkgconfig.
That is where gimp goes looking for babl and gegl version.
I wrote about compiling from git a while ago.

Good luck,
Gerard.

Looks like gimp-2.9 has been taken off the download list at
ftp://ftp.gimp.org/pub/gimp/v2.9/

You can always get it from git.gnome.org/gimp.
That's what I did a couple of days ago.
When you use git the chance of breaking is large.
Gerard.

I have GIT working now so whats the command?
git git://git.gnome.org/gimp/version?
gimp-2.9
v-2.9 doesn't seem to work.

git clone git://git.gnome.org/gimp ... clones gimp-2.8 right? :)
