I just got 2 replies from Mark Probst the Mathmap developer

First he pointed me to the doc on how compile it for windows
https://github.com/schani/mathmap/blob/ ... indows-dev

then he told me something surprising about the preview:
the preview SHOULD be resizable , in my experience in Windows is not but if so should be for a error in the windows build

Even more important he pointed me to the part of code regarding the preview, that should help to find how to make resizable also in a windows build (but this seems much beyond my skill) and make trivial change its default size

here the relevant file

https://github.com/schani/mathmap/commi ... 3110a43f0a

for read all the related messages see
https://groups.google.com/forum/?fromgr ... oT_oneukTU

Now should be easier recompile mathmap for gimp 2.8, adding for the occasion the many cool filters created after the last , windows build , fixing the preview issue (hopefully making it resizable and pannable as should be..or in the worst case at least bigger ) and make also a 64bit build

Crossing my fingers...

I'm able to resize the preview PC (not to 1:1 though). I just drag the preview window to make it bigger then I grab the actual render Window to make it bigger. Have to do this each time though (window always opens to it's default size). :)

So it was a problem on my computer ! damn !! i feel as a idiot, also because i never tried to do on linux and i thought was a general problem not a quirk on my PC.

well i hope that at least the Mark tip on the windows build may be of help to update MM for gimp 2.8 and realize a 64bit version

(of course i already have MM working well in gimp 2.8 at 64 bit, still a new build will improve...will improve a lot allowing to use all the RAM and not just 2GB, and will remove the silly warning and the dependency from obsolete .dll )

Crossing my fingers too PC; would definitely appreciate a 64-bit build of MathMap. :)
