Here is an orange fruit i made last night with GIMP 2.8.

Very cool josephbupe.
Maybe you could run the plastic wrap filter or something on the pulp section to make it look wet and shiny. Maybe you could also bump the pulp section a bit too to make it stand out.

Very nice graphic...the process would make a great tutorial on how to create illustration graphics that are professional looking
