I'm wanting to compile GIMP GAP in F17 and was wondering if there is a more recent, stable, development version (git snapshot maybe?) that I should use with GIMP 2.8 and if so, where can I get it?

Thanks!!

Because of the way Wolfgang develops GAP, the GIT tree is pretty much always in a "releasable" state. Just check the change log to double-check that he is not in the middle of something (currently things seem to be pretty stable).

gap-git seems to be active. Have you tried cloning it?

Edit: Looks like we submitted almost simultaneously. :)

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. I grabbed the source code from here.

https://github.com/GNOME/gimp-gap

I didn't see any show stopping bugs in the change log.

I just grabbed the latest GIT src and compiled it for Fedora 17 - 32 bit - Gimp-2.8.2
I had a little trouble with a lib/libm.so.6 error but when i added -lm to the GIMP_LIBS line in the Makefile in the gap folder, it compiled quite nicely.
GIMP_LIBS = -lm

This also works well for the "Interpolate" plug-in.

This error seems to be popping up in almost every new plug-in i try and compile.

Just thought i would pass that on if anyone gets that error this is the fix. :)

Also i did not bother to make install because it seems the plug-ins wind up in a gimp-2.7 directory.
Rather i just copied the plugins and the scm files to their required directories
rod/.gimp-2.8/plug-ins and /rod/.gimp-2.8/scripts

All is working well by the way.

I have yet to create an animation but all the dialogues seem to work.

If anyone wants the compiled 32 bit plug-ins (28 count) and the 2 scm's just holler at me via PM.
