I'm really happy (and exhausted) to announce the release of the 1.5.1.6 version of the G'MIC plug-in for GIMP. The Changelog is available here :

I've released at the same time a new version of the underlying image processing library (which is called CImg : C++ template image processing library).
I've worked a lot these last days to be able to release these two versions at the same time
There are not much changes with the latest 1.5.1.5, except that this one is intended to last longer (I've so much other work to do than coding, that I need to keep my hands away from C++ code a little bit).

I encourage everyone to update, and I promise to stop releasing new versions every week !

Of course, thanks to all members of Gimpchat for their support and nice ideas to improve the plug-in.

Thanks David. I just installed it 5 minutes ago when i saw it on the Registry.
You do so much for all of us David and i for one am very thankful for your sacrifices.
Your time as well as your patience with some of us.
GMIC is a wonderful tool, and i surely hope it will be part of Gimp for a long while to come.
Kudos David for all you do my friend. Now maybe it is time for a brain rest.
GMIC will always be one of the first filters i install along with any new Gimp version.

Forgot to thank you here for the update David, especially the cool Pseudogray option. Samj just updated it (only a few hours ago I installed the 1.5.1.6 beta; lol) for 64-bit.

I had to give the famous 'Rodilius filter' a go.

It is my understanding that this latest release is for 2.8. For those of us who choose to stay with 2.6 for now, what is the latest version of GMIC that still works on 2.6 and where can I get it. The website only has this latest version and unless I missed something there are no archives to download an older version.

Molly - I tried that link but all I saw was a bunch of comments and discussions and no place to download one of the versions. I still need to know which one is the most up to date and still works with 2.6. I'm thinking it must be 1.5.1.4 or 1.5.1.5.

I thought that only worked with 2.8 or do I just take the contents of the Gimp 2.8 folder that it creates, put it in my gimp.2.6 folder, and then delete the empty 2.8 folder? Otherwise I still need to know where I can download 1.5.1.5 please.

i just updated to 1.5.1.6 still in 2.6. in windoze (32 bit) just download the executable and double click.

w/o gimp running of course!

G'MIC 1.5.1.6 isn't installing anything in my plugins folder. When I tried installing it over 1.5.1.5, and opened G'MIC, it was 1.5.1.5 that opened. When I removed 1.5.1.5 and installed fresh, it just wasn't there - either in Gimp or in my plugins folder.

I just updated the 64 bit version and everything is working great
I just unzip and copy/paste over what's already in the plugins folder
Dumb question but would it be possible to update G'MIC right from inside the program
