PS nice new sig O :paint

i was thinking to use a similar spider for assemble a spider bat

OT...The Mith Of the Spider_Bat

Spider-bat are very dangerous creature with wings, claw ,teeth and sonar app included as for normal Bats...as extra they have a excellent night vision , because their reddish globular eyes are very sensitive to infrared light

But they are spiders so full of poison and very good in crafting malicious and in their case very large and and very sticky spidernet .

the Spider-Bat hide their eggs inside Pumpikins, and there they grow till the period bewteen the end of October
and the beginning of November.

Then they are ready to jump out all togheter from the pumpikins, feed up to eating Pumpkins and are frantic to change diet

Usually they eat everything, all the victim to the bones and all proof and evidences, including most of pets and forniture, before fly away
So ,there are no complains about spiderbat and ,without bodies and proof there is no ground for investigation

I have tried the lathe many times and I can't get it to doing anything in color. I changed the top input/output to all and still I just get black and white... Should I be checking some more input > output things.

ouput is not too relevant use what more handy for you (i use new layer or new image )
input is relevant...you may use "all visible" taking care to have only 2 visible layers

just 2 messages ago (end of page 6 ) i listed what could be wrong:

first the filter rotate a image, so you need HALF of the image
To make a 3D apple you will need the sliluette of half apple as you may see here

Imagegmic_lathe3d by Ronounours, on Flickr

then the axis of rotation is the left edge of the layer were is the object to rotate.
Object that should be white on a black bg

there are several thing that may go wrong, i know because i stumbled on all of them
I'm thinking I was following in your footsteps there, PhotoComix.

It's definitely not a filter for the faint of heart.

@Molly - Sure glad you got it working. :yes

@Molly - Very nicely done! Excellent blending!!

@PhotoComix - Those are sweet! We can see you've been practicing!

My Latest. I've been working on gradient blending, using multiple paths and selections.

Left you a blog entry at your Flickr PC; really do love the Christmas trees. Like the Grail too PM (Holy? maybe not so much; lol). To O; there are so many possibilities to this one that you will never but touch the surface with this preset. I vaguely remember studying this concept in Calc2 (or was it Calc3) in college; Volume of rotation. Did alright (made straight A's in Calc 1,2,3,and 4; won't say what how I did in Linear Algebra, Engineering Statistics, and a few of the other math specific courses I had to take; lol) in College. :)

Hey Lyle,
I remember taking some of those classes and did well in them, just don't ask me to remember what I learned in those classes! I have the memory of someone twice my age! :goofy

A water splash, sort of. The blending detail was 12 paths and 13 selections. Could I be over-thinking this?? Nah! This is way too much fun!

Molly if you want use that jug ,( to create a new jug and not something maybe cool but weird )you should cut in half and transform in pure BW(no gray pure white and pure black ) as here

Attachment:
bottle.jpg
bottle.jpg [ 2.05 KiB | Viewed 1290 times ]

note that
1 ) shape should be white on black
2) did you noticed that i use the left half of your jug?
That because at the right side was the handler, but when rotated the handler will look never look anymore as a handler but as a sort of ring attached to the bottle

@PhotoMaster

It seems you are having a lot of fun with this toy...and getting very cool results :coolthup

Exactly as for the little sphere that was at right side of your jug...plugin transformed in a ring (and i do see that ring in the lower part of your example

3) in the shape aliased or jagged lines are NOT a problem...on the contrary blur may be a problem
And the hole inside the handler ring will get lost

Maybe you didn't noticed between all sliders a new cool option "Max Angle"
(i noticed well because i ask for :hehe )

the default is 360, a whole rotation of the shape

With less you cut away a slice from the shape as here
