I know that 3DS has this technology but it's only for single perspective. This technology addresses 100s of perspectives. Pretty cool stuff. Maybe 5 years we all will be watching 3D TV. :)

How come i think you have stumblethrough? Every time I see something coolou post the same thing within a few hours?

Slashdot and Sourceforge use to be under the same wing many years ago, but the powers that be separated the two into their own (believe it's been over 5 years since they did this). Slashdot is basically a way news is shared by the geeky. lol

pretty soon our tv will be virtual reality and we won't be able to tell which is real and which is virtual!

Yes that is probably the next step.
You will have a graphic platform that shoots out a beam of holograms.It will look like the action is happening right there in your living room. :) - I imagine the rich elite will have huge ones.

True holographic displays are still a long way ahead... some volumetric displays have been developed but even they are quite rudimentary still.

Still, I wouldn't mind having one of those 3d displays, looks really cool.
